Full Description
A good quality late Victorian solid oak dining table made in the style of a Jacobean early 17th century table with beautiful cup and cover carved legs over shaped blocked feet united by a substantial and attractive stretcher. With a fine lunette carved frieze, each arch centred with a foliate scroll.

The deep solid oak boarded and cleated top is in lovely condition without marks or scratches and the whole table has been extremely well cared for and is without damage, worm or repairs.

Retaining a good colour throughout and seating up to eight people very comfortably (ten at a squeeze), the two original boarded extension leaves slide smoothly out from below the table top whenever needed and the table has a good weight and is very solid indeed.

It has the appearance of a much earlier table and was purchased from a well known dealer as a 17th century example many years ago for more than £2,400.

My lovely client is now moving to a property which needs light coloured furnishings and I am therefore selling this very good table on his behalf.

The table is shown here with a set of six early 19th century spindle back chairs.
