A beautiful pair of very fine porcelain goblets, each hand made and exquisitely hand painted
Dated
c. 1840-1860
Dimensions
3 inches in diameter and 5 inches high
Full Description
A beautiful pair of very fine porcelain goblets, each hand made and exquisitely hand painted with winged putti, resting on clouds and each with a classical theme.

One with bow and arrow, one with trumpet, one holding Caduceus entwined by two serpents, and one wrapped in a garland of roses.

Fine restored crack to one goblet, virtually invisible, but otherwise in perfect original condition. Last two pictures show the hairline crack as best we can from the outside and inside of the goblet. Marked as early Sevres and 18th Century but possibly later in the manner of Sevres and c. 1840-1860.

The heavy solid brass griffin bases retain their original gilded finish and are in perfect original condition and exquisitely cast with very fine detailing. Each of the feather light goblets fits its own griffin stand correctly and snugly.
