The tall well padded back and substantial outswept scrolled arms set on turned cup and cover supports. The deeply padded seat with lovely deep serpentine shaped apron to front and sides.

The walnut frame is particularly attractive with a good and consistent warm colour. The legs joined with curved and double moulded X form stretchers, the front legs with cup and cover centres and braganza scrolled feet and the rear legs are raked tapered and squared.

Very heavy and solid. It has recently been upholstered in a top quality upholstery fabric called Georgian Tapestry (Gainsborough Silk Weaving Company fabric number W2242 in cream/multi) which retails at a minimum of £245 a meter.

The upholstery is in excellent condition throughout with no tears, marks or wear and the frame is in excellent condition also without breaks, repairs, worm or damage and only superficial dings and wear consistent with age and careful use.

From a private estate with good provenance.

A very comfortable and strikingly beautiful high quality chair in the William and Mary manner and strongly recommended.
