Full Description
A very unusual and rare Georgian mahogany salt box of barrel form with copper bands and slope lid on original leather and copper rivet hinge. The wall hung box with spoon rack above and all in superb original condition and with an excellent well developed colour and a very good skin from years of use, wax and care.

Absolutely charming and particularly fine quality. Such wall hung boxes are more often square or angled and I have only seen a few in the last 40 years of this barrel form and never one with the brass banding.

A wonderful example and it is unlikely you will ever see another of this beautiful form and superior condition.
