Full Description
A very beautiful oak tiered spice box made with slender hand sawn and polished boards in the first half of the 18th century and with two wire hinged, slope lidded, compartments above a single drawer which retains its original nailed up oak drawer lining.

An utterly charming piece of Welsh vernacular furniture. Designed to be wall hung, with a pierced shaped crest. The box was originally made to hold spices, salt or herbs.

All the timbers are original and it retains its original wire hinges.

Fabulous colour from years of daily use. In fine and original condition throughout with small knocks and dings consistent with age.

Lovely! A really fine original example with fantastic colour and rich entirely natural patina.
