Full Description
A beautifully shaped oval drop leaf table, the top comprising eight original oak boards of superb colour and patina over well turned bulb and urn turned legs and set on the original shaped feet.

Solid and substantial, heavy and sturdy, the table was made in the traditional manner with tenon joints pegged through. Original iron hinges and the table leaves open smoothly and rest level and flat when extended. Marks, knocks, bracing added below the drop leaves. There are a few old worm holes here and there - all long since dead – and some old cracks, wear, losses, repairs and restorations. All entirely normal and acceptable in 300+ year old table and these minor faults are reflected in my price.

The table is shown here with a set of 18th century Shropshire chairs which are a good height for the table and look perfect with it. The chairs are available separately on my website.

This Queen Anne table has a great colour and beautiful, entirely natural, patination.

A usable and handsome period table seating six people in comfort.
