Full Description
With twin boarded top over large supports with sleigh feet and united with a single original and removable elm stretcher which is fixed with large wedged pegs at either end.

The whole is hand azed with tool marks throughout on the underside of the table top and top of each support, these are numbered with roman numerals and have integral rounded dowels which fit into shallow holes below the top.

The table has an excellent colour, is extremely heavy and sturdy, sits down well and has considerable age. It has a lovely natural and soft patination and may be a little earlier, perhaps late 18th century.

Shown here with a harlequin set of chairs, the table seats six comfortably with lots of leg room and a is very level and firm without any movement.

It will dismantle for transport so is ideal if you are looking for an early elm table that can be carried through narrow doors or tight turns in corridors.

Really lovely and a complete bargain!
