Full Description
This is an original, charming and beautiful small country dresser made in Wales in c. 1750 and of exceptional colour and natural deep patination.

The dresser is peg jointed throughout – original pegs - and retains all of its original timbers throughout including the hand hewn backboards.

Lovely raised arched and applied mouldings to the cupboard doors of the rack and to the base cupboards, three small original spice drawers over two long and one short frieze drawers. All with original linings and small brass button handles – some original and some early replacements. No evidence of earlier handles of any other form or pattern. This dresser was made for a Welsh country cottage and has been waxed, polished and very carefully looked after for the last 270 years. The patination is so beautiful, such a richness of colour and with that almost mirror deep sheen that can only be created through hundreds of years of use and love.

Made by skilled hands, super quality and a very small example at just 69 inches high. Of attractive and well balanced proportions, this dresser has every desirable and handsome feature that a George II period country dresser can offer. Guaranteed to delight.
