A truly beautiful and impressive 19th century mahogany Gainsborough design chair in the George II manner with very well carved anthemion arm supports and outscrolled terminals centred with an open flower head. The high hocked cabriole legs with fern and anthemion carving and large claw and ball feet and raked back legs

Newly and professionally reupholstered in a Gainsborough Silk Weaving company fabric - a pure silk mixed weave - in pale gold.

No woodworm, breaks, damage or repairs. Very well cared for and extremely heavy and solid.

Exceptionally comfortable and a really beautiful chair.
