Full Description
It is highly unusual to find a piece entirely dressed in richly figured calamander. This most expensive and exotic wood was sparingly used for cross bandings and inlays on finer pieces and the use of it in such abundance here is indicative of a master cabinet maker.

The side panels have walnut inlays and the cabinet is decoratively brass banded throughout with inlaid brass anthemion mounts and a fine sunburst in the Egyptian manner.

The cabinet is brass banded, with decorative foliate brass border to door and knulled brass bands encircling, original lock and key. The cabinet has a removable shelf which has a calamander dressed front. The whole set on four naturalistic solid brass lion paw feet. The door with original brass grill and the cabinet in good original condition, the pleated silk drop with some small marks.

An extremely rare cabinet, exquisitely small and absolutely beautiful.
