Full Description
Exemplary 17th Century long stool with finely turned urn, bobbin and ringed legs and complete original frame of superb colour and in excellent original condition with only minor knocks and dings consistent with age and use and some old worm long since dead. Heavy and structurally sound, useable and practical with no replacement timbers nor significant repairs.

Newly and professionally re-upholstered in a lovely gold, ivory and duck egg striped silk and chenille heavyweight upholstery fabric (retailed at £180 per meter) and with an antique silk bobble trim in golds and creams. The original horsehair padding has been re-used and covered with fire resistant cotton wadding as required by regulation, and the fragment of original 17th century fabric of red silk velvet with gold thread - which was largely missing/threadbare - has been retained for the purchaser.

Modern replicas of these stools sell for upwards of £1,400, yet here you can purchase the genuine item made by a skilled craftsman over 300 years ago.

An absolute delight and strongly recommended.
