A good early George III solid mahogany chest on chest retaining its original cast brass handles in the Chippendale pattern and with original 18th century steel locks and original working key (one lock replaced)

The chest with a wide splayed ogee cornice over dentil blind fretwork frieze above two short drawers over six long graduated drawers all with beautifully grained mahogany fronts of excellent colour. All of the drawers with solid oak original linings with very finely cut dovetails.

Of a good and usable size, not too tall so that the top drawers are easy to reach and use.

The chest sits level and firm on its original tall and shapely bracket feet. Original backboards also.

From a private house in Kent, a really heavy and well made Georgian chest on chest dating from c. 1760 at a tiny price.
