Full Description
A fine quality George III mahogany armchair.

The back filled with a radiating design of carved honeysuckle centred with an oval reserve. The arms pierced and shaped in the Chinese Chippendale manner and the tapered legs united by a chamfered H stretcher and pierced fretwork spandrels.

Very heavy and solid without any weakness at the joints and with original timbers throughout.

There is an old and fine repair to the seat board and some small and old repairs to the oval carved reserve in the centre of the back. Shown in our photos.

Beautiful usable and comfortable.

Despite its weight the chair has a light and elegant appearance with a newly recovered gold silk squab cushion.
