Full Description
This is a beautiful harlequin set of ladderback chairs from a local estate.

The set comprises two carvers and eight standard chairs. All of the same design and size, the chairs range in date from first or second quartile of the 1800s for most of them, to around 1900 for one carver and one standard chair.

All are of a rich and natural consistent colour and the rush seats are in excellent order throughout. All of the chairs are solid and robust without movement or weakness in the joints.

Comfortable, with a gentle rake to the back, the seat height is 17.5 inches from floor for the two carvers and 17 inches from floor for the standards. Seat pads could add another inch or so if required.

Wear and patina consistent with age and careful use.

A very beautiful and practical set of antique chairs in remarkably good condition.
