A good 19th Century cut etched and bevelled mirror in the Venetian manner with original plates and beautiful floral and vine etched glass border.
The crest made of separate shaped and mirrored segments fixed with small original screws covered with shaped small crystal heads. The mitred corners of the mirror set with leaf and crystal flower head mounts.
In good original condition for age with a few tiny age related freckles to the central bevelled mirror plate and flanking plates and some foxing of the mirror finish beneath the two decorative glass mounts at the top corners and the to a slight degree the flower heads on the lower left corner. There is also an old crack and restored chip to the bottom edge of the mirror towards the right hand corner.
This beautiful mirror will light up a room and reflects very well. It retains its original wooden boarded back and is ready to hang with a strong wire fitted. Dating from c. 1880, a good antique and high quality Italian mirror with faults as mentioned above and which are reflected in our price.
