Full Description
A most attractive pair of late 19th century/early 20th century genuine gilt and gesso over pine frame mirrors in the manner of Thomas Chippendale and retaining their original mirror plates, one plate with natural foxing to the lower right hand quarter but still reflecting well.

The pierced and swept foliate frames with elaborate C scrolls and bark covered vines, icicle drops and both frames in lovely original condition, not over painted, this is the original gilding.

No repairs and only minor scuffs and dings consistent with age and careful use.

A very striking and large true pair of mirrors.

Original backboards also. Very atmospheric mirror plates with a slightly silver hue to the glass and a good depth of reflection.

Large, impressive and beautiful.
