Full Description
A beautiful set of eight 19th century burr elm and ash chairs with attractive cabriole legs to front.

Heavy and of excellent quality, all joints tight. Made in the traditional way by hand in around 1890.

A rare true set with each chair of same size and proportion. The substantial saddle seats made of very well figured burr elm.

Waxed finish which is easy to maintain and with a wonderfully warm colour and nicely polished throughout. Very comfortable with a gentle rake to the backs. A few dings and a couple of small professional restorations, very hard to find and not affecting structure, as is entirely right and usual for antique chairs.
