Full Description
A very fine quality sofa table, inlaid with brass, crossbanded with coromandel and with beautifully grained rosewood to the top and solid rosewood supports and feet. Brass casters are original as are the lion’s head handles.

There are two opening drawers on one side and two identical but dummy drawers on the other, with the same handles. Drop leaves are level and open smoothly and are supported on original mahogany flies. No damage or significant marks, exemplary original condition throughout and has not been re-finished or repolished – which is a big plus. The coromandal crossbanding is particularly high quality and the proportions and this elegant design would indicate a London maker and dates the table to around 1820. Sofa tables are particularly sought after, and the best of kind command high prices

The piece came from a private estate and has some provenance.
