A very beautiful late 19th century carved giltwood mirror with original bevelled mirror plate surrounded by canted bevelled mirrors within carved and gilded beaded borders.
The whole retaining original gilt finish with only light wear and tiny losses consistent with very careful use. The backboard and chain at back are later but otherwise in excellent original condition and ready to be hung. Dating from c.1890-1910
Large at 66 inches (167.5 cms) and 29 inches wide (73.5 cms) and the mirror plates with no marks or discolouration.
Beautifully carved drop bell husks tumble down both flanks, surmounted by a classical urn with fruiting palm and substantial foliate scrolls with open flower heads. The base with foliate scrolls and a tied spray of leaves.
