Full Description
A wonderfully shaped George II walnut wingback chair with original frame and in very good original condition throughout. Most attractive wide spaced solid walnut cabriole legs to front with a breakfront seat rail which repeats at the sides and back of the chair. The tapered column solid walnut back legs with squared terminals.

The upholstery is old, a pale green-gold cut velvet in fair and usable condition but with wear to the tops of the arms, the tip of the arched back and front of the seat pad. The wear is not unattractive and re-upholstery is not essential in our view. The cut velvet fabric is clean and suits the chair well.

The proportions and shape of this early Georgian chair are perfectly balanced and it is strikingly beautiful with a clear personality and presence.

Heavy and sturdy, exceptionally comfortable and very strongly recommended.
