Full Description
A very good George II stool with exaggerated cabriole legs in solid walnut and carved at the hips with finely shaped and raised borders and scrolls. The legs terminating in long and well shaped slipper feet.

The seat rails are original and are oak, dressed in thickly cut walnut veneers with a deep walnut carved moulding around the top of the frame. The drop in seat has been newly upholstered in an oriental design fabric of peacocks and lilies, with gold thread detailing and in excellent condition.

The stool is sound and solid without breaks or repairs. There are a few tiny nicks to the walnut on the seat rails and here and there to the moulded border. The surface with minor marks and dings consistent with age and use and a couple of very old worm holes, long since dead.

The stool is sturdy and usable and a lovely small size. It is tall and sits down very nicely and hugs the ground.
A really beautiful mid Georgian walnut stool of a most attractive form in excellent showroom condition.
